About Us

Creative Quilting Services was first established in 2002 with Cheryl & Syd Ambler taking over on in July 2009. Creative Quilting Services is the distributor for Rasant, YLI, Mettler and Isacord threads. We are also Australian distributors for Fabric Cafe products such as Chenille by the Inch. There are many other products available as you will see from the website.

Cheryl began patchwork and quilting in 1983, her first lesson, piecing over papers, was held at the Margaret River Community Centre. As a result of attending those first lessons, Cheryl was one of six ladies of the original Patchwork Quilting Group in Margaret River.

Cheryl has been a member of the Western Australian Quilting Association since 1993 and attends the monthly sewing days held on the third Tuesday of the month. Cheryl has a Gammill Classic Plus with Intelliquilter computer and is busy "Quilting Quilts for Quilters". Cheryl also conducts patchwork & quilting beginner classes for ladies.

Syd recently retired from full time work and is looking forward to broadening his horizons and understanding of what quilters see in all this fabric and thread.

All our children have grown up and are looking after themselves and our many grandchildren. We love to travel, especially to Bali. We live on a lovely peaceful one acre block surrounded by gum trees and birds in Baldivis, Western Australia.

Our aim is to offer friendly advice and sound product knowledge that can be shared with all quilters.
